After the PM’s announcement yesterday of further restrictions on travellers - especially cruise ships - we have decided to cancel the Oren Teicher event on Wednesday evening.

Some of you may know that Oren is actually travelling around New Zealand on a cruise ship and Auckland is the final stop on the itinerary.

While it isn’t immediately clear what the status is for ships already in New Zealand it seems in the spirit of the new restrictions to cancel.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and we are very sorry that we won’t be able to see him on this trip. 

Long-time friend of Booksellers NZ Oren Teicher, who retired as CEO of the American Booksellers Association at the end of 2019, will be visiting Auckland in March and has been invited to meet with local booksellers and publishers about the current state (and future of)  bookselling  in the US and globally.

 With 30 years at the ABA (ten as CEO), we can think of no one better placed than Oren to provide this kind of overview.

The event will be held at Time Out Bookshop in Mt Eden on 18 March and following Oren's remarks there will be a chance to mix and mingle over refreshments. There will be no charge to attend (although space at Time Out is obviously not infinite).
